DETERMINING THE BROAD AREA OF FIGURES by Budi Maryanto, ST


   Before we are using AUTO CAD drawing, then we must first determine the extent of the image area. It is intended that all objects drawn images can be seen all the picture area. At AUTO CAD by default, wide image area is 9 X 12 units.
Units used by AUTO CAD is a unit, 1 unit can be expressed as 1 meter, 1 inch or 1 millimeter, and so on. It is, depending on the users, when we have been accustomed to using the unit of measure in millimeters, then we can state that the unit is one millimeter.
For example:
  The area of ​​the image that will be used is 420 X 297
To set the image area used in AUTO CAD commands limits.
How to use it is:
1. At the command prompt: type in LIMITS press enter
2. At the command prompt On / Off / <lower left corner> <0.000,0.000>: press enter
3. At the command prompt Upper right corner <12.000,9.000>: type hit enter 420.297.

explanation
On numbers <12.000,9.000> is the square footage area of ​​the image by default on AUTO CAD, while the number 420.297 is the area on the image that we specify AUTO CAD. Writing on the two figures separated by a comma (,) without spaces. Now we have to have a piece of paper as a working area for drawing a length of 420 units and 297 units where the width of the unit is 1 millimeter. However, the work area is not active, use the following command to activate the zoom

4. At the command prompt: type in the zoom press enter
5. At the command prompt All / center / dynamic .... : Type All press enter
